Exercises and stretching corrects muscle imbalances
Posture exercises and stretching to strengthen weakened muscles and stretch tight muscles on a joint
As the opposing muscles that act upon a joint become imbalanced because one is stronger and overtight, while the other is elongated and weak, a posture correction exercises and stretching program must be implemented. In a nut shell, by doing selected exercises and stretching in strict form to target the underactive muscle and stretches to loosen overactive tight muscles is the best and only solution. The two most common muscle imbalances is the anterior pelvic tilt and the hunched over shoulders with protruding head that sticks out.
Exercises and stretching for the anterior pelvic tilt
The anterior pelvic tilt, or the deep gap in the lower back with the forward protruding belly, is a condition commonly caused from sitting too long.
The muscles of the deep hip flexor complex in the front are too tight and pull the top of the pelvis and spine of the lower back to the front, while the glute muscles in the back are too weak to pull the pelvis back.
Posture correction exercises and stretching are needed to strengthen the weak glute muscles in the back of the hips, while stretching the tight hip flexor muscles in front of the hips to bring the pelvis back into position.

Exercises and stretching for hunched over shoulders with forward head
Hunched over shoulders with protruding head is a condition commonly caused from leaning over too long, such as a computer or work, etc.
The muscles of the pectoralis muscle groups in the front of the shoulders are too tight, and pull the shoulders to the front. The Trapezius muscles on the back of the shoulders are too weak, letting the head and shoulders get pulled to the front.
Posture correction exercises and stretching are needed to strengthen the upper and mid trapezius muscles in the back of the shoulders, while stretching the tight pectoralis muscles in the front of the shoulders.
